M+D Properties met with representatives from the City of Buena Park, Caltrans, NBBJ Architects, and engineering consulting firms KPFF, and KOA on Tuesday. The meeting centered on installing a deceleration lane and radius entries for delivery and fire trucks at the Melrose intersection off of Beach Boulevard. M+D Properties and the City of Buena Park have agreed to meet with the owner of the neighboring Pizza Hut property, in order to discuss acquiring additional land along Beach Boulevard for these goals. Meanwhile, NBBJ and civil engineers will be working on revised designs of the planned radius entries, to be approved by Caltrans, OC Fire Authority, and the City of Buena Park Traffic Department.

Caltran (California Department of Transportation) is the state agency responsible for highway, bridge, rail transportation planning, construction, and maintenance.

KPFF (Kelly, Pittelko, Fritz, and Forssen) provides structural and civil engineering services, both as consultant and prime designer, principally servicing the construction industry.

KOA provides planning and engineering consulting services to public and private sector clients, specializing in traffic engineering, transportation planning and street and roadway design.

Leasing Meeting

M+D Properties also met with Blatteis & Schnur on Tuesday to discuss retail options and the architecture of the Source. B&S are meeting with a number of possible retailers, including H&M, Urban Outfitters, and Monaco Theater. They are also in the process of arranging meetings with Tiffany and Co., Sephora, Forever 21, and Love Culture. JC Penney has expressed in the Source project, and Macy’s comments on the revised project plans are expected within two weeks.
